Hi, I’m the stationery lover behind Pocket of Paper!

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by pens, notebooks, and all the little treasures that make writing and crafting feel special. My favourite shopping trips growing up were to Warehouse Stationery, Typo, or Gordon’s—always hoping I’d discover a new pen or notebook to take home. But when I finally visited Japan a few years ago, everything changed. I filled my suitcase with pens, stickers, washi tapes, and notebooks I couldn’t find back in New Zealand. That trip opened my eyes to the incredible world of Japanese stationery - and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Pocket of Paper grew from that love. I wanted to share the joy of Japanese stationery here in New Zealand, without the stress of expensive shipping or limited choices. Every item you see in the shop is something I’ve personally tested, loved, or researched - because if it sparks creativity for me, I know it can inspire you too. My all-time favourite pen? The Zebra Sarasa Dry (perfect for left-handers like me - it dries before I can smudge it!).
